About Ellie

The concept of an anonymous blog means that you'll know some of the deeper, darker parts of my conscious while simultaneously be shielded from the most basic parts of who I am; my name for instance. My anonymity gives me the ability to let loose in a way that isn't always possible in my day to day life, and as someone whose brain is constantly whirring, I need that.

I'm a writer at heart who started blogging in my free time over summer break. I've been writing stories, journals, poems, and lies for as long as I can remember. I even have a couple notebooks from when I was little and literally couldn't write, so I just filled the entire thing with scribbles. This is not a blog that is designed to make me money, or to get a huge following. All I really want to do is put my individual thoughts into the world, to keep up my creativity, and to hopefully connect with a few people who like the way I think.

I'm a happy person most of the time, but just like everyone I've got my dark side loaded up with baggage. I'm very passionate about food and feminism (not gonna put the other f-word I enjoy) and I like to think I've got a pretty good handle on my self esteem. I'm a sucker for camping, alcohol, and long nights reading or talking with friends. Speaking of, I'd do anything for the people I'm close with, which isn't a huge number but there's always room for more in my circle.

You should take the name Slightly Flighty very literally. I am not the person who is constantly on the move, but that doesn't mean there won't be a few weekends where I drop off the grid. I hop between two states for most of the year, have some pretty damning commitment issues, and don't follow any type of schedule with my writing. It's part of my personality and I'm in no way willing to change it.

If you're interested in photography, reading poetry, thoughts on current events, an occasional book review, or even just the kinds of things a 21 year old college student tends to experience,  then you're in the right place. Enjoy your time here, friend.
